Freezing Football @ Haltemprice

Despite never being put off by the weather I think everyone was a little surprised to see this weekends fixture still on given the snow! We arrived to Haltemprice in conditions similar to the French Alps on a 3G pitch that was pure white with no markings to play Read School. I almost went back home for my ski's.

However as with most Year 7 boys their enthusiasm to play was all that mattered and after a marking out of the touchline with cones and a good warm up we finally saw some of the green pitch surface and got the game going. Despite the short pitch our U12's managed to play some good football and complete an impressive 8-1 victory against Read playing some top football and rotating positions well.

I have big expectations for this team moving up the school and am keeping my fingers crossed for a warmer fixture next week to finish the season! Thanks to the parents for their support and to Read school for making the journey down from Drax!
